Around 25 highly experienced stakeholders and experts from industry, research, and politics came together at the AI Innovation Days in Dresden to discuss topical industry-relevant issues in the field of AI. Thanks to live streaming, the audience had the opportunity not just to watch the event, but to actively engage with the speakers as well. The topics discussed ranged from core AI technologies in Saxony and Germany to funding opportunities for companies, contact points for collaborations, and promising strategies for Saxony’s future in the AI sector.

The AI Innovation Days kicked off on September 16 at 1:00 pm with a talk entitled “Saxony and AI – pioneer or bystander?” with Oliver Schenk, State Minister for Federal Affairs and Media and Head of the State Chancellery, Dr. Peter Schneider, head of Fraunhofer IIS/EAS, and Heike Wilson, managing director at DUALIS GmbH IT Solution.

As well as a variety of dialogue formats, the AI Innovation Days also featured expert sessions on current AI projects and specific project ideas open to participation by companies with a relevant profile. Another highlight of the event was a virtual exhibition showcasing over 20 “AI Use Cases”. Online visitors were invited to explore concrete examples of AI applications in various industries by browsing informational texts, videos, animations, and photo galleries, and interact with exhibitors via a chat interface.
